The Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) introduces dynamic spectrum sharing and ranges from 3550-3700 MHz. CBRS is governed by a three-tiered spectrum authorization framework: Incumbents (Federal Radar Location Systems, VIP users), Priority Access Licenses (PALs) and General Authorized Access (GAA). Access and operations to CBRS are managed by a dynamic spectrum access system (SAS).
In September 2020, Select Spectrum announced an innovative new web platform, which will streamline transactions for PAL licenses for prospective users. The platform, CBRS Direct, is planned to launch in 2022, and will support partitioning and disaggregation of licenses.
