Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS)

The Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) introduces dynamic spectrum sharing between 3550-3700 MHz. Licenses in the band are to be made available by the FCC via an ascending Clock Auction in 2020. CBRS is governed by a three-tiered spectrum authorization framework which accommodates a variety of applications by a diverse group of users. Access and operations will be managed by a dynamic Spectrum Access System (SAS). The band consists of three tiers: Incumbents (Federal Radar Location Systems, VIP users), Priority Access Licenses (PALs) and the General Authorized Access (GAA) tier.
