The FCC’s official ID for a license — like a license plate for spectrum. You’ll see it on FCC paperwork and in our license reports.
The slice of the airwaves a license covers, measured in megahertz (MHz). Lower frequencies travel farther and pass through buildings better; higher frequencies carry more data over shorter distances. Click a band name in any license report to read more about that band.
How much bandwidth the license includes, in megahertz. More MHz means more capacity for whatever you want to run on it.
